Investing in Evansville: Greenways Foundation Awards $10,000 Grant to Propel Evansville Region Trail Master Plan

Empowering, Connecting Communities
It is with great enthusiasm that the Greenways Foundation announces a $10,000 grant to the Evansville Area Trails Coalition (ETC) in support of the Evansville Region Trail Master Plan. “Investing in this $140,000 plan is the first step to connecting Southwest Indiana to the Indiana Visionary Trails System,” says Lorie Van Hook, Executive Director at ETC.

Promoting Sustainable Living
The Evansville Region Trail Master Plan will be a testament to the power of strategic urban planning. By seamlessly linking the region through an expansive trail network, this initiative will foster pedestrian and cyclist-friendly environments, encouraging sustainable and active lifestyles. Greenways Foundation is proud to be a catalyst for projects that prioritize the well-being of communities and the environment.

Economic Prosperity Through Recreation
Beyond the immediate health benefits, the Evansville Region Trail Master Plan is poised to invigorate the local economy. By attracting outdoor enthusiasts and promoting tourism, the trail network becomes a key driver for economic growth. This aligns with the Greenways Foundation's commitment to supporting projects that not only enhance recreational opportunities but also contribute to the economic vitality of the regions we serve.

Valuing Nature, Elevating Property Values
Research consistently highlights the correlation between proximity to green spaces and increased property values. As the Evansville Region Trail Master Plan unfolds, property owners along these corridors can anticipate a positive impact on their investments. The Greenways Foundation recognizes the long-term value of such projects, not just in enhancing the natural landscape but also in fortifying the economic foundation of the communities they touch.

Expressing Gratitude
“Thank you,” says Van Hook. “Without this grant, we’d be short and the whole project would have been delayed.”

Greenways Foundation is more than a financial contributor; it's a partner invested in community growth and sustainability. We extend our gratitude to our donors and license plate holders for their dedication to this visionary project. Together, we are forging a path towards a more connected, healthier, and economically robust Indiana.
