Grant Fund
Up to $10,000 for your visionary trail ideas.
Thanks to the generosity of the Hoosiers who invest in the “I Support Trails” specialty license plate, the foundation awards $40,000 in grants each year for the development, improvement, maintenance, accessibility, and sustainability of trails in Indiana. The Grant Fund is open to greenways and trails designed for multi-use, walking and running, cycling, and horseback riding; it also supports projects for paddling on Indiana’s blueways.
Since its establishment in 2012, Greenways Foundation has awarded over $350,000 to 56 projects totaling an outstanding $17 million! Many of these projects would not be possible without an “I Support Trails” grant. Existing 501(c)(3) organizations and local governments are eligible to apply for up to $10,000 for their trail-related project. Grassroots organizations are eligible to apply for a Startup Grant (up to $1,000) to be used towards legal fees and IRS application fees to form a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Application Closed until March 2025
