Projects and volunteers

We love to roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty!

Cleanups are more than annual events

Each spring, we co-host major cleanups along Fall Creek and White River but that's not all. Throughout the year, we sponsor smaller, targeted efforts, and would welcome talking with your church, neighborhood or youth group if you have a particular project in mind.

Other projects

We also keep busy with other greenways-related tasks, such as:

  • Tree plantings
  • Trail development
  • Art murals along trails
  • Sponsorship of academic studies
  • Trail amenities installation, such as environmental signage and drinking fountains
  • Special events to raise awareness about greenways
  • Unique partnerships with adjacent trail neighbors
  • Promotion of alternative transportation to major recreational events, especially with the Pedal & Park program
  • Real estate conservation to create an expanded system of linear parks
  • Sponsorship of a bi-annual statewide greenways conference

We welcome involvement from any interested parties, and encourage you to contact us if you, or your youth or community organization, wants to have its own event benefiting our trails or waterways.

Not only can we offer logistical support, we also have grant monies available for qualified projects!
